Afternoon Fellowship

The Afternoon Fellowship is a monthly meeting held on Wednesdays between 14.00 and 15.30 in the Parish Hall. Each meeting features a guest speaker, followed by time for conversation with refreshments. There is no charge for admission but a voluntary collection of £1 at each meeting helps towards our running costs. Everybody is welcome.

Discovering the wide variety of snowdrops when in bloom. All walkers have responsibility for their own safety.

26 March – From Plank to Desk – Tony Horsewill
Tony is a woodworker who discovered the wonders of a natural material. He prefers the traditional hand made methods. Tony won the Challenge Trophy for the best exhibit in Austwick Village Show 2024.
30 April – Bellringing in Clapham – St James Church Clapham Bellringing Team
28 May – English Folksong and its Survival in Present Day Hymns – Clive Grey
This afternoon’s event will take place in Austwick Church of Epiphany, with the opportunity to enjoy the Flower Festival displays.
12 June – We have a Story to Tell – a visit to Kirkby Malham, St Michael the Archangel Church with Rev’d Sue McWhinney
A visit to Kirkby Malham, St Michael the Archangel Church, where Sue is the Associate Priest. With lunch at the award winning Townhead Farm Shop in Airton.
25 June – Music Matters – Roland Fudge
Roland will talk, play the violin, play the guitar and sing.
23 July – Bentham Hub Project – Leon Fijalkowski
Leon is Chief Executive Officer of Pioneer Projects (Celebratory Arts) and Orb Community Arts, and Director of Bentham Hub.
27 August – Garden Party at High Laithe, Austwick

At Saltaire there is a small museum with exhibits from the textile industry. Also a cafe and book shop and The Peace Museum. Booking details to follow.
