Cuckoo Festival & Street Market 2012

As the days begin to lengthen the thoughts for some of us are already turnng towards this year's Festival. Once again it coincides with the Queens Jubilee.

The programme this year will commence on the evening of Friday the 1st June in the Village Hall and the Street Market itself will be on Monday the 4th of June. No doubt there will be many activities and events to celebrate the Jubilee but your committee is hoping to provide a wide range of attractions to encourage support such as the ever increasing popularity of the fell race 'The Austwick Amble', market stalls from crafts to spares to Magpies and tombolas, entertainment from the jazz band and Zoot and the animals and a wide range of childrens activities.

As always there will be plenty of food and beverages to maintain the energy levels.

Thanks to 'The Gamecock' the 'Spirits Diary' is already underway and all the organisations in the Village should have the chance to pick the lucky date. A reminder for those planning their cuckoo designs is that this years theme is the Olympics so we shall be looking forward to seeing some sleek fit and athletic birds on our streets and in our gardens.

Your help and support is always welcome and if you would like to be involved in any way please tap into your village organisations or contact any of the committeee. We hope that the 2012 Festival will live up to the reputation of its forerunners.
