How to find us

Take the A65 from Skipton to Kendal do not enter Settle but take the Settle bypass. At the end of this the road sweeps left and arrives at a section of road that is narrower and bending. At the first crossroads take the road on the right that is sign posted to Austwick.

 

Built early in the twentieth century and located in the middle of the village, Austwick Parish Hall's stone-built appearance blends well with the typical Yorkshire cottages that cluster around the village greens.

 

The Hall consists of two rooms:

 

Small room - 45 square metres.

Large room - 110 square metres.

 

A fully equipped kitchen

links both rooms.

 

Accessible from the rear of the large

room is a paved and grassed area measuring approximately 60 square metres which has lovely views.

Operating as a registered charity, the Hall is cared for and maintained by a  Council of members and officers who take on voluntary responsibility for this

important village amenity.

 

The Hall is available for private hire for family gatherings such as weddings,  Christenings or funerals; business events such as meetings, seminars, conferences, exhibitions; and group activities,

 i.e. weekly meetings, workshops or indoor sports.

It makes an ideal venue for social events such as dances, dinners or musical/cultural performances.

 

The rear outside area can also be used for barbecues or

other outdoor events.

 

The large room ready for a wedding reception.

 

Austwick has a Church, village shop/post office,

public house, hotel and guest houses and a number of Bed and Breakfast establishments, tennis courts, bowling green, children's adventure playground and playing fields.

 

The Parish Hall has an Entertainments Licence, but the hirer must apply for a bar licence if one is required.

 

The maximum number of people the Hall can accommodate is 120.

 

The following facilities are available in the Hall:

Full central heating.

Modern cloakrooms with toilets, washbasins

and showers.

Seating and tables.

Bar

Piano.

Crockery, cutlery and cooking equipment

to cater for 120 people.

Kitchen fitted with cooker, microwave, boiler, electric kettle and double sink unit.

 

The Hall may be used for residential purposes

if you provide your own beds/mattresses.

 

 The Parish Hall Building is connected by Wireless LAN to the Austwick Community Network. This facility  has created the building as one of the 'hot spots' within the Network Area. Those using the letting facility can be connected to the community high speed, Broadband facility. This connection will be based on a minimum twenty four hours connection and will involve the payment of a connection fee and a fee for the period required.

A PC with a wireless card is required to connect to the

 2 meg ADSL broadband link to the Austwick Community Network operating 24 hours a day.

 

The Community ICT facility is supported by Grant Aid from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and  the European Community under the Rural Development Programme.

 

The Officers of the Hall are grateful to the

Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust for financial help

with the refurbishment work carried out in recent years.

 

Additional items available for hire include:

Trestle tables gazebos etc.

 

Charges to hire the Hall are very competitive i.e.

Full residential use per 24 hour period: £ 50.00.

Large room for six hour period: £ 24.00.
