Austwick Community Players
'Making Tracks'
The 2010 Play was again held in the Austwick Parish Hall
and opened with its premier performance traditionally with
a private evening given to the Community senior citizens who are first served
a glass of wine or fruit juice with dinner, sweet and coffee or tea.
The latest play 'Making Tracks' followed the dinner and was received
with very much pleasure by the invited audience

Austwick and Wharfe Collection of Household
Refuse and Materials for Recycling.

Council.
New Refuse and Recycling Collection Service 2010
Green Bin
continues in use for normal household waste and household
material that cannot yet be recycled.
The weekly green bin collection for
normal household waste will no longer be collected weekly but once every two
weeks.

Blue Bins will no longer be used for Waste Paper,
but will , continue to be used for glass bottles or glass containers for food, and aluminium
drinks cans but now also with the addition of plastic bottles, household aerosol
cans, deodorant spray cans, hair spray cans and shaving gel cans Collection will
be every four week the next being due on
Large Blue Plastic Bags.
Supplies of these have already been issued in
Austwick. These are to be used for waste paper and cardboard. Collection will be
every two weeks. and the next collection will be on Wednesday the

Brown Bin for garden waste.
There is no change to the garden waste
collection scheme
Collection times may vary but are planned to
be early
for Austwick and could be at 7.00am
The collection times will now be
displayed on a sticker label affixed to your bin.
It is extremely important that we recycle as
much as possible. Sadly, this country is many years behind other countries in
Europe some of which have been using Wheeley bins for over thirty years.. Please help by sorting
waste out and placing it in the correct coloured containers.
Waste Paper including cardboard, may still be
left in the Settle Swimming Pool Car Park in the container trailer. The
collection there is sold to raise funds to support the Settle Swimming Pool.
Please do not pack your paper in plastic bags; keep your paper and cardboard in
paper or card containers, or take them loose as there is certain to be empty
cardboard boxes you may use at the site.
Please do not leave piles of newspapers in a
loose conditions so that they may blow about in the wind.
Please remember that the site is manned by
unpaid volunteers; please do all you can to make their work a little easier
