Auditor John Dyson (as previous year)
The duties of the club officers are detailed in the Club Constitution.
Table Tennis Finances:
Gordon had provided copies of the audited club accounts for 2010-2011 which showed a healthy balance in credit of £88.47.
Expenditure for the coming year will be the hire of the hall each evening (currently £11 per night) and new table tennis balls as required.
Subscriptions:
As the Club has £88.47 in the bank it was proposed and agreed that the annual subscription should be reduced back to £2 and the evening fee reduced back to £1 per person.
These amounts are based on attendances of at least 11 people per session and are to be reviewed after the Christmas break.
Six evenings have been booked for 2011: Sept 22nd and 29th, Oct 20th, Nov 3rd and 17th and Dec 1st (all Thursday evenings 7-9pm).
Exchange visit with Baudinard as proposed by Alan Jupp:
Alan has provided information about Baudinard village and the proposed visit by their Sports Club to Austwick in September 2012 and a return visit to Baudinard in May 2013. Austwick TTC are in favour of this but it will be left to individuals to complete and return the questionnaire forms to Alan by the 25th October 2011.
Any Other Business:
At last year’s AGM the subject of the Club’s Youth Policy was raised, and although the Club has a policy of welcoming all-comers there has been no interest from juniors over the past year. Catherine and the Reverend Ian Greenhalgh have recently been discussing the possibility of adolescents playing at the Austwick TTC, so the point was raised again at this year’s AGM.
Neil & Helen said they were against introducing juniors to the Thursday senior session, as it would change the whole social atmosphere. However, it was suggested that perhaps a separate youth session held at a completely different time may attract more junior interest, for example ending before the senior session, perhaps on another evening, or on a Saturday morning.
Catherine was asked to discuss this proposal with Ian Greenhalgh, with a view to this pair taking on the organization and running of any such youth sessions. Other points to consider under this proposal would be training and supervision, Health & Safety and First Aid cover, and the correct police approved certification.
Date of Next Meeting:
First TT session in January 2012 (date to be advised).
Action Notes from this meeting:
Gordon to be formally thanked for his continued good work as Treasurer.
Neil to purchase new table tennis balls as required.
Diary note for review of subscriptions at first session in January 2012 and to vote on the youth proposal if submitted by Catherine.
