Sandybanks is situated on Thesens Island, on the water's edge of Knysna Lagoon.
It has beautiful views across the lagoon back to Knysna Quays and Knysna town, and is a paradise for bird watchers.
Thesen Island is private and secure, and offers a safe and relaxed environment. Although walking distance from town, one need not leave the island (90 Ha) as it offers a variety of shops, coffee shops.
In addition, there are tennis and squash courts, cycling routes and beautiful walking paths on the island with 11 acres of natural parkland boasting an abundance of bird life.
It has its own private beaches as well as slipways for the launching of boats, and waterways to explore.
It provides a perfect central location to explore the Knysna area and its world class golf courses.
The house offers flexible accommodation for 2 - 8 guests. There is a 3 bedroom "boathouse" sleeping 6 and a one bedroom "boathouse" sleeping 2, which can be combined into a single unit sleeping 8.
Both units are fully equipped and offer luxury accommodation. All linen and bath towels are provided and guests just need to bring beach towels.
The 3 bedroom unit is modern with an open plan living area and wonderful lagoon views. The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom with bath and shower and a balcony overlooking the lagoon.
There are two other bedrooms and a family bathroom also with bath and shower. Outside there are decks for al fresco dining and a salt chlorinated swimming pool.
The 1 bedroom unit is one of the nicest you are likely to find in Knysna. It is extremely spacious and also has wonderful views across the lagoon. It has its own lounge with wood burning stove, a fully equipped kitchen, and a separate dining area.
Upstairs there is a spacious bedroom with twin beds, a balcony overlooking the lagoon, and a luxury en suite with bath, shower, and double vanity. Outside there is a deck and swimming pool.
