E-mail Guide. When you
send emails they go to the outbound mailserver which is provided by Zen. This
mailserver looks up the recipient of the message and sends your message to that
recipient's mailserver. The mail is then stored until it is downloaded by the
recipient.
Mail sent to any austwick account will be stored on the Zen mail server
until you download that message. You should use austwick.org but
Founder Members may continue to use the older
austwick-yorks.net if they really must; at the moment they refer to the same account on the
Zen mail
server.
How do I configure
my email program? Any program that has been
designed to support the POP3 mail protocol will work with your ACBA e-mail
account. Configuration guides are given at the bottom of this page.
Can I use my Zen e-mail address when away from home?
You will be able to receive emails from any machine if you configure that
machine with your email account
details but you cannot send email this way. However. you can view and send mails
from any computer that has Internet access using Webmail; click on the
appropriate button in the menu at the top of this page.
Does ACBA have an anti-spam system?
It is very difficult for such software to know which
is true spam. Best value judgements are sometimes incorrect. To
prevent loss of any mail this has therefore been disabled. ACBA does not wish to
act as a censor and members should install spam filtering to suit their
own needs. Special filtering is in place at the school to protect the children
and this is controlled by the teaching administration.
Does ACBA have an anti-virus system?
ACBA has an anti-virus system in place. However it is important that your
system is protected independently as infection can come from sources other than
the Internet and emails.
